Psychotherapist in Colchester & Online

People often come to therapy because something no longer feels manageable. You may be living with the effects of trauma, struggling with addiction, or finding yourself caught in emotional or relational patterns that feel hard to understand or change. You might feel overwhelmed, shut down, or disconnected from yourself or others.

Finding the right therapist is an important decision. You are welcome to contact me to arrange an initial consultation or to ask any questions about how I work.

I provide Psychotherapy and EMDR in Colchester and Online.

Psychotherapy offers a space to slow things down, to think together, and to begin to make sense of experiences that may feel confusing, overwhelming, or difficult to manage alone, including those that are felt as much in the body as in words. People come to therapy for many reasons, including anxiety, low mood, relationship difficulties, or a sense of feeling stuck or disconnected from themselves.

Much of my work involves specialising in working with complex trauma and its associated difficulties, including addiction, dissociation, and longstanding relational patterns. Therapy can support you to develop greater emotional stability, deeper self-understanding, and a stronger sense of agency in your life.

People often arrive in therapy with a sense that something isn’t quite right, even if they cannot easily explain what that is. You may notice familiar patterns repeating in relationships, strong emotional reactions that feel hard to understand, or a sense of being overwhelmed or shut down. Psychodynamic psychotherapy offers a way of exploring these experiences over time, with attention to emotional life, relationships, and the meanings that have developed through past experience.

I offer weekly open-ended and time-limited psychotherapy, as well as EMDR, from my private practice at The Stockwell Centre and online. My work is rooted in psychodynamic psychotherapy and informed by contemporary trauma theory.
